How to export your tastytrade transactions for a trading journal

One CSV covers everything: fills, expirations, assignments, exercises and the cash settlement of index options.

The steps

step 1
Open the History tab and choose the Transactions subtab.
step 2
Set the date range you want. Exporting the whole year every month is safe here: re-importing an overlapping range never double counts.
step 3
Use the download icon at the top right of the table and choose CSV.

Traps in this file

The Expiration Date column is in your account's time zone

A New Zealand account prints 9/12/25 for a contract that expired on the 11th. FillStub takes the expiry from the OCC symbol instead, which is the same in every time zone.

An index settlement is written as TWO rows

A position row with no money and a 'Cash Settled Assignment' row carrying it. They are one event and are merged.

Average Price is the contract's value, not the quote

A call filled at 1.76 is written 176.00. IBKR writes 1.76 in the same column, so FillStub normalises it and shows you the quote.

Futures options say Multiplier 1, which is never true

A Micro E-mini option is five dollars a point. The real multiplier is recovered from the row's own arithmetic.

Three formats are supported: the 15-column tastyworks export, the 20-column 2023 file, and the 21-column file from September 2024 onward. Columns are matched by name, so a reordering does not break the import.
